Program Areas

The Florida Forward Initiative operates across four interconnected program areas, each with defined targets and accountability measures.

Infrastructure Modernization

Coordinating over $14 billion in planned infrastructure investments across transportation, broadband, water, and energy systems. Key projects include interstate corridor improvements, rural broadband expansion, and resilient utility upgrades in coastal communities.

Workforce Development

Partnering with Florida's state college system, CareerSource network, and private employers to create 50,000 new credentialed positions in high-demand fields by 2028. Programs emphasize earn-while-you-learn models, industry-recognized certifications, and direct employer partnerships.

Economic Growth

Working with Enterprise Florida and local economic development organizations to attract $5 billion in new private investment over three years. Priority sectors include aerospace and defense, life sciences, financial technology, and advanced logistics.

Community Resilience

Deploying $2.3 billion in federal and state funds for hazard mitigation, affordable housing, and essential services. Projects are prioritized using a data-driven vulnerability index that accounts for flood risk, housing cost burden, and access to healthcare and transportation.
